Professional Indemnity Insurance
All members of the Association are required to arrange Professional Indemity Insurance to provide cover for the treatment they offer to their patients. Please note that although members may be qualified and perform other modalities unless these therapies are covered by their own insurance they are outside the NAMMT's responsibilities.
Important.
Please check that your Insurance covers you for the full recommended amount and also check the amount your premium is, because in some cases a £5,000,000 insurance with Balens can work out cheaper the £3,000,000 with some other insurance companie.
It has come to our notice that some practitioners are availing themselves to the NAMMT discount but are not members of NAMMT. This is illegal and your insurance will not be valid if you do need to claim. Please be a member if you have this insurance. Please remember anyone practicing as either an Osteopath and Chiropractor are NOT covered by NAMMT block insurance. Also members have to hold a qualification in basic Massage at level4 + to qulify for our block insurance.

Premiums
Please choose the premium depending on the therapy you practice as per the table below and the Indemnity Limit required. Please make cheques payable to Balens. If you practice a range of therapies in different categories, please only pay the highest premium.
The policy runs for a full year from the date of inception

Premiums include Insurance Premium Tax/Levy, DAS Legal Expenses Package, Affinity, Balen Admin/Doc fee of £0-£30 which applies to the Malpractice element of the policy only

To take out a policy with Balens on the NAMMT scheme your must be a NAMMT Member and comply with NAMMT's membership terms and conditions.
One of the conditions of membership is that you have to complete 20 hours CPD (12 hours formal & 8 hours informal) each year. Failure to complete this would result in YOUR INSURANCE BEING VOID and your NAMMT membership not being renewed. If your membership is not renewed for any reason you must inform Balens and come off the NAMMT scheme.
