Professional Indemnity Insurance

All members of the association are required to arrange Professional Indemnity Insurance to provide cover for the treatment they offer to their patients.  Insurance can be obtained from:

MIB provides insurance for many therapies including:

 Kinesiology     Hypnotherapy    Chiropody      Acupuncture

These are in addition to massage and manipulative therapy requirements and if you are qualified to treat with other modalities and use them in your practice you should consult with the insurers to make sure that your insurance cover is sufficient for what you offer.

Policy Details

The basic policy (which is underwritten by Royal & Sun Alliance Insurance plc) provides third party cover for claims emanating from members of the public in respect of death and/or personal injury and damage caused by the negligence of the practitioner including:

• illness or injury arising from malpractice of the therapy,

• liability arising from the sale or supply of products in connection with the course of treatments,

• injury/illness whilst on or about the practitioners premises

The basic limit of indemnity is £1 million on any one claim and the insurance is written on a 'claims occurring' basis.

The policy can be extended to suit individual needs and most non-intrusive therapies can be included all on the one policy.  Please do not hesitate to contact the company with any enquiries.
