About NAMMT

The Association of Massage and Manipulative Therapists Trading as the National Association of Massage & Manipulative Therapists is a "Not for Profit" Professional Association (NAMMT) founded by Mr. Eddie Caldwell, former principle of the Northern Institute of Massage and other professional Massage and Manipulative Therapists to represent the interests of professional therapists.

AIMS & OBJECTIVES OF NAMMT:

  • To promote the welfare and professional development of Members

  • NAMMT is a not for profit Association
  • To offer professional advice, guidance and direction on practice and regulatory matters.

  • To gather and disseminate pertinent information from and to Members, interested individuals and bodies.

  • To act as a networking facility for members.

  • To offer a focus for centralising information pertaining to massage and manipulative therapies.

  • To encourage research into, and evidence-based practice of, massage and manipulative therapy techniques.

  • To promote the continuing professional education and development of skills and competencies of Members as allied health care professionals.

MAC THACKER  NAMMT post: Chairmam

Mac trained in Remedial Massage and up to Honours Diploma in Manipulative Therapy at the Northern Institute of Massage. He is a registered Physiotherapist with the Health Professions Council . A CNHC Sport & Remedial Therapist, and a Professional member of Back Care (National Back Pain Association).
He is registered as a Lit.Ost. and also a Fellow Osteomyologist with the General Council of Osteomyology.

Mac is a sports therapist for the London Marathon.

Dianne Richardson

DIANNE RICHARDSON NAMMT post; Secretary

Dianne started her training in 1984 at the Northern Institute and qualified in Remedial Massage, Manipulation, Sports Therapy and Electrotherapy up to the Diploma of Honours.  She is a member of C.N.C.H. and registered practitioner of the Arthritic Association and Back Care ( Back Pain Association) and part of the team of tutors at the Northern Institute.

Dianne is also a qualified Hypnotherapist, Psycotherapist counsellor and works very closely with Mind body therapy, registered with the General Hypnotherapy council as a senior qualified practitioner, NAMMT, CNHC,G.M.T.C, SQHP, BSYA., L.C.S.P (phys).

Steve Tinning

STEVE TINNING NAMMT post: Regulatory Discipline

Steve works as a partner at the Clarendon Clinic in Manchester.

Steve qualified at the Northern Institute at Remedial, Advanced and Manipulation levels, he also holds diplomas in Sports and Fitness Therapy, Advanced Sports Massage and Osteomyology.


Tracey Kaye

TRACEY KAYE   NAMMT post:  Minutes Secretary 

Tracey is a co-director of Belper Backpain Clinic in Derbyshire.          

She trained and qualified at the Northern Institute in both Remedial Massage and Manipulative Therapy.

She is registered with the Health Professions Council as a Physiotherapist and registered as a Lit.Ost. Osteomyologist with the General Council of Osteomyolology.

Tracey is part of the team of tutors in Advanced Massage at the Northern Institue of Massage.

She is also a masseuse for the London Marathon.

Pauline Mathews PAULINE MATTHEWS   NAMMT Post:  Continuing Professional Development and Research

Qualified Nurse  and Nurse Tutor, currently Senior Lecturer Nursing Department University of Central Lancashire.  She contributes to teaching and research development in the Complementary Medicine Division of the Nursing Department and leads the massage pathway within the complementary medicine degree course.

Pauline is a qualified remedial massage therapist and has undertaken research projects and research education in collaboration with the Northern Institute over the last eight year, and is a clinical examiner for the Remedial Massage course.  Her qualifications include RGN, BA, MA, Cert Ed. and RNT.

Michael Berry

MICHAEL BERRY   NAMMT post:  Treasurer Previously worked in Management Accountancy Trained and qualified in Remedial Massage  (Northern Institute of Massage) Clinic:  Colne, Lancashire. He is also a member of GCMT.

Christine Hunter

JOE LLOYD NAMMT Post:  Membership Secretary

Joe has trained at the Northern Institute in Advanced Remedial Massage & Manipulative Therapy.

He is a HPC Registered Physiotherapist and also a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists
