About NAMMT
The National Association of Massage & Manipulative Therapists is a new professional association founded by professional massage and manipulative therapists to represent the interests of professional therapists.
The secretary of NAMMT is Eddie Caldwell, former Principal of the Northern Institute of Massage.
AIMS & OBJECTIVES OF NAMMT:
To promote the welfare and
professional development of Members.
To offer professional advice,
guidance and direction on practice and regulatory matters.
To gather and disseminate pertinent
information from and to Members, interested individuals and bodies.
To act as a networking facility for
Members.
To offer a focus for centralising
information pertaining to massage and manipulative therapies.
To encourage research into, and
evidence-based practice of, massage and manipulative therapy techniques.
To promote the continuing professional education and development of skills and competencies of Members as allied health care professionals.

MAC THACKER NAMMT post: Chairman
Mac trained to Honours Diploma in Manipulative Therapy at the Northern Institute of Massage.
He is a registered physiotherapist with the Health Professions Council and a professional member of Back Care (National Back Pain Association).
He is registered as an Osteomyologist with the General Council of Osteomyology.
Mac is a sports therapist for the London Marathon.

CALDWELL NAMMT
POST: Secretary
Remedial Masseur & Manipulative Therapist. Principal of the Northern Institute of Massage 1995-2005Currently a tutor at NIM and coordinator of CPD courses. Honorary Member of the Society of Sports Therapists. Prior to 1995 had full-time clinics in Bolton and Bury and was team masseur for England athletics teams between 1985 and 1995.
Author of "Remedial Massage Therapy” and “Understanding Massage”. Holds a degree in Education and a diploma in Special Needs Education.

DEREK TURNER NAMMT POST: Regulatory & Discipline
Derek originally trained as a Chemist and holds a BSc and PhD from Nottingham University. He retired after 30 years working for Pharmaceutical multi-nationals and retrained at the Northern Institute of Massage from where he holds diplomas in Remedial Massage and Sports Massage.
He works from home and at sports events and is also a member of a complementary therapy team at a local hospice.
From his career in the Pharmaceuticals industry he brings to our Association a familiarity with the needs of procedures and Codes of Practice and he compiled for NAMMT drafts of the Constitution and Code of Ethics.

TRACEY KAYE
NAMMT responsibility: Minutes Secretary
Tracey is a co-director of Belper Backpain Clinic in Derbyshire.
She trained and qualified at the Northern Institute in both Remedial Massage and Manipulative Therapy.
She is registered with the Health Professions Council as a physiotherapist and registered as an Osteomyologist with the General Council of Osteomyology.
She is also a masseuse for the London Marathon.

PAULINE STUTTARD NAMMT Responsibility: Continuing Professional Development and Research
Qualified Nurse and Nurse Tutor currently Senior Lecturer Nursing Department University of Central Lancashire. She contributes to teaching and research development in the Complementary Medicine Division of the Nursing Department and leads the massage pathway within the complementary medicine degree course.
Pauline is a qualified remedial massage therapist and has undertaken research projects and research education in collaboration with the Northern Institute over the last eight years, and is a clinical examiner for the Remedial Massage course. Her qualifications include RGN, BA, MA, Cert Ed. and RNT.
MICHAEL BERRY NAMMT post: Treasurer
Previously worked in Management Accountancy
Trained and qualified in Remedial Massage (Northern Institute of Massage)
Clinic: Colne, Lancashire. He is also a member of GCMT.
ROSE PLAYER NAMMT responsibility: Membership Secretary
A Remedial Massage Therapist with a clinic on the Wirral, Cheshire.
